A new trailer for Valkyrie Anatomia – The Origin – , the latest entry in the Valkyrie Profile JRPG series which Square Enix is developing for Android and iOS smart phones, offers a glimpse at the game’s setting and gameplay.
The trailer sets up the background of the story, depicting the various realms (Asgard, Alfheim, Midgard, Niflheim, etc.) and the conflicts within the Norse pantheon leading up to Ragnarok, as well as how the “Twilight of the Gods” affects the lives of ordinary human beings.

The trailer also offers a fleeting glimpse of gameplay footage, which suggests that Valkyrie Profile‘s patented combo-based battle system will return in Valkyrie Anatomia – The Origin –. The game begins service in Japan in Spring of 2016.
